PhysMAP model-reuse stress test: forced-convection surrogate reused on Lewis (1992) Test 35A, gravity-on |
schema:description |
Hand-written in the shape the surrogate pack's external-annotation rule defines, from PhysMAP's banked stress-test record (results/lewis35A_head_to_head/stress_test_lewis_reuse.json, headline design M; PhysMAP 0.2.5, commit 675729b). PhysMAP's current v0.6 export does not yet carry W-SURR pattern ids, source: external, or the structured observation fields, so this package was built by dev/tools/scripts/build_physmap_examples.py rather than exported. A Gaussian-process surrogate trained on thirteen gravity-off CFD runs (inputs Re, Pr, x/D; gravity never varied, never an input) is reused in vertical heated flow. With gravity on, buoyancy is active (Ri = 0.287 against a calibration window of 0 <= Ri <= 0) and its matched-ablation materiality is at or above the illustrative theta = 0.10 at the three downstream stations x/D 67.55, 101.69 and 135.84, where W-SURR-06 fires. Every visible deployment input is an exact training input, so the training-envelope check (W-SURR-03) and the input-based OOD detector stay silent in both states. Lewis disowns stations x/D 0.31, 0.85 and 159.33 on his own authority; PhysMAP's stress test marks them not comparable and they carry no applicability observation here. theta = 0.10 is illustrative (unlocked) and is recorded as such on every observation. solverTruth is Lewis's measurement with gravity on and the gravity-off CFD control with gravity off. Development demonstration: one run, stations not independent. |
